Government Small Business Grants

Have you always been interested in starting your own business? Starting and managing your own business can be tough work. First you have to have an idea and then you have to get funding for your idea. While ideas are not too difficult to come up with, getting funding for your business can be tough. Banks are usually not willing to lend to people that unless they are willing to put up their own personal credit as collateral. If you are a women, disabled, or a minority then getting a small business grant should be easier.  There are several places where you can look to get a grant. It does not necessarily have to be through the Federal Government.

All Federal Government small business grants can be found on the government grants website. Here you will not only find business grants, but just about grants for everything else. The database is huge so just search for the one that suits you.

Contact your local government and find out if they provide some small business grants. Usually they will because these local governments want more businesses created in their area so that more jobs are created and tax revenue goes up.

Next you will want to go to the large companies and see if they offer small business grants. Most large companies will have some kind of grant program that helps somebody. See which ones match you specifically. You can go to the Chamber of Commerce in your town to get a list of companies in your area that are providing grants.

Finally, the easiest way to find government small business grants is to just search around online. Make sure that the grants that you do find are legitimate. You should not have to pay money just to apply for the grant. If any organization asks for money, then be wary.
